Who can become a tissue donor?
Those individuals who, following their death, wish to help others in need of a transplant, are aware that a graft may under no circumstance pose additional hazards to the patient. It is therefore critical to maintain the highest safety standards during tissue donation. Tissue collection and processing are subject to mandatory, standardized guidelines. Most importantly, however, is conducting a thorough examination of each donorʼs personal and medical conditions, which could exclude him or her from participating in the donation process. For that reason, each prospective donor must fill out a comprehensive questionnaire.
