DIZG – German Institute for cell and tissue replacement

The German Institute for Cell and Tissue Replacement arose from an initiative of doctors and scientists from Berlin's Humboldt University and the Universities of Leipzig and Erlangen-Nuremberg.

Exclusively charitable purposes

The institute pursues exclusively and direct charitable purposes. The objective is to supply surgeons with the human tissue transplants they need to treat tissue defects caused by illness or accidents. It is incumbent upon the surgeons to ensure that the use of human tissue transplants is indicated in each individual case.
